Cody White Resigns From Softball Post

Central Oklahoma's All-Time Winningest Coach Taking New Job In Texas

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma head softball coach Cody White resigned Thursday to accept a similar position at the University of North Texas following a 12-year run with the Bronchos.

White became UCO's all-time winningest coach in 2025, leading the Bronchos to the NCAA Division II Softball Championship for the fifth time in school history and the second time in three seasons.

White ends his time at Central Oklahoma with a 498-171 record in 12 seasons (2014-25).

"I'm grateful for Cody's tremendous leadership and contributions at UCO, both in the softball program and athletics department," Vice President for Athletics Stan Wagnon said. "We wish him the very best and trust he'll have continued success in his next chapter. At the same time, I'm excited to identify UCO's next head coach to build upon and further strengthen our status among the nation's best softball programs."

White led UCO to 10 Division II national tournament appearances, two 50-win seasons, nine 40-win seasons and five regular-season MIAA titles. He's had five of the six winningest seasons in school history (54 in 2023, 52 in 2025, and 48 three times – 2017, 2019, 2022).

A search for a new coach will begin immediately.
