UCO Finishes Ninth At Nationals

Broncho Golf Season Ends In Florida

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Central Oklahoma's season came to an end Wednesday at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championships.
 
UCO finished ninth in the team standings after 54 holes of stroke play. The top eight teams advanced to match play and the national quarterfinals.
 
"While we didn't plan on it going this way, we're still really proud of the season we had," UCO head men's golf coach Derrick Thompson said. "We didn't play our best and it cost us. But we did have a tremendous season and we'll look back at it as a success."
 
Central Oklahoma won seven tournaments this season and finished runners up in three more. In two trips to PGA National in Florida, UCO finished eighth and ninth.
 
This week, UCO posted a 54-hole team score of 877, with rounds of 290, 295, and 292. Central was 13-over par for the tournament and missed advancing to nationals by two shots.
 
Nick Canales led the Bronchos through 54 holes of golf in Florida. The sophomore finished 2-under par and tied for 11th individually with his 214. Canales shot rounds of even-par 72, 3-over 75, and then had a sizzling finale on Wednesday, surging up 27 spots on the leaderboard with a 5-under 67.
 
Fellow sophomore Baylor Bostick also recorded a top 20 finish at nationals with his even-par 216. Bostick shot rounds of 1-over 73, 1-under 71, and then finished by splitting the difference with an even-par 72 on Wednesday.
 
Jordan Wilson started the week in contention for a national title. Last season he finished runner-up after 54 holes. Monday, he was in the top 10 again. But Wilson finished 40th with a 5-over 221. He posted rounds of 2-under 70, 2-over 74, and 5-over 77 this week, wrapping up the career for the Edmond native.
 
Bennett Baldwin also played his final round of golf for the Bronchos after a four-year career at UCO for the Stillwater, Oklahoma native. Baldwin finished 63rd individually with a 10-over-par 226. He took UCO's lowest scoring average this season (70.3) into nationals but posted rounds of 75-75-76 this week.
 
Karsten Paciotti was also in the UCO lineup and finished 82nd with a 14-over-par 230 (76-77-77).
