Central Oklahoma Falls At Emporia State In MIAA Play

EMPORIA, Kan. – Central Oklahoma played from behind most of the day Sunday before settling for 74-65 defeat at Emporia State in MIAA play.

UCO is now 12-9 on the season with a 6-6 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos return home this week to host Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western at Hamilton Field House.

Sunday in Emporia, UCO tried to play catch up for more than 30 minutes. The Bronchos held a 13-11 lead in the early moments. Central used a 7-0 run to go in front 13-9, and sat tied, 15-15, 10 minutes into the game.

But the way the remainer of the game played out, it was UCO getting close, but not all the way back. The teams went to halftime 30-28 in favor of the hosts. Central Oklahoma had the game within a single possession five different times throughout the second half.

UCO finished the game shooting 36.0 percent from the floor, 18.2 percent (4-for-22) from behind the 3-point line, and 63.6 percent (7-for-11) from the free-throw line.
