Bronchos Rout Monticello In Tahlequah

Central Oklahoma Wins By Double-Digits Twice This Weekend

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Central Oklahoma wrapped up the two-day Central Region Challenge with another double-digit win Saturday afternoon at Northeastern State's Tahlequah Event Center.

The Bronchos didn't trailed in either game this weekend as UCO improved to 3-2 on the year.
 
"It was a good weekend for us as we continue to grow and figure who we are," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "We still have a lot to work on but we got two wins this weekend and overall it was good for us."
 
UCO beat Minnesota Crookston 62-47 on Friday.
 
Saturday afternoon, Matthew Willenborg stole the show with a career-high 26 points on 11 of 15 shooting, including 3-for-6 from behind the 3-point line. He was 1-for-2 at the free-throw line and nearly finished with a double-double, pulling down nine rebounds. Willenborg added three assists and a block.
 
Jacobi Sebock made it two with 20 as he finished with 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting. Sebock hit two 3-pointers and 4 of 6 free-throws as he pulled down four rebounds, and added one assist, one steal, and one blocked shot.
 
Josh Nwankwo scored 11 points. Connor Newton (five), Trey Tuck (three), Marcus Zeigler Jr. (two), and Brady Hancuff (one) rounded out the scoring.
 
UCO was 27-for-56 from the floor overall and 6-for-15 from the free-throw line. The Bronchos went 10-for-15 from the free-throw line.
 
UCO led 12-0 in matter of 3:13 on Saturday, dominating early and controlling often. Central would lead by as many as 21 points and led by that much at halftime, 42-21.
 
It was a 26-point game six minutes into the second half before UAM whittled the lead down to 13 by the end of the game.
 
Central Oklahoma will make its home debut next week with a non-conference contest against Southwestern Oklahoma State Wednesday, Nov. 19 at Hamilton Field House. The Bronchos are back on the road at West Texas A&M next weekend.
