Bronchos Drop Game 2 In Canada

Central Oklahoma Outpaced By No. 18 Central Washington

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Central Oklahoma fell short in its second game of the new season, losing to No. 18 Central Washington 75-65 at the D2CCA Canadian Tipoff Classic.
 
Josh Nwankwo led UCO for the second night in a row, scoring 21 points before fouling out. The Bronchos are 1-1 following the loss and will wrap up the season-opening festival Sunday against Western Washington at 11:45 a.m. (Pacific), 1:45 p.m. (Central).
 
UCO shot 44 percent from the field on Saturday, making 26 of 58 shots. The Bronchos were 4-for-10 from behind the arc and only 9-for-20 from the free-throw line.
 
Central Oklahoma led by as many as two points on a few different occasions Saturday, but the last was 35-34 early in the second half. Central Washington led by as many 13 points in the game's final moments and led for 26:27 of the 40 minutes on Saturday.
 
Nwankwo scored a team-high 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting, was a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the 3-point line, and was 3-for-6 at the free-throw line. He added four rebounds and two assists.
 
Jacobi Sebock had an 18-point outing on 8 of 16 shooting and was 2-for-2 at the free-throw line. He pulled down a team-high six rebounds and had one assist, one steal, and one blocked shot.
 
Five other players scored for the Bronchos. Marcus Ziegler Jr. scored nine points, Parker Hannah scored six points, and Matthew Willenborg added five points. Ben Averitt added four and Trey Tuck two to round out the scoring.
 
Central Oklahoma plays Western Washington Sunday to wrap up the D2CCA Canadian Tipoff Classic before returning home. The Bronchos are off next weekend and will be in Tahlequah, Oklahoma for the Central Region Challenge Nov. 14-15 to take on Minnesota Crookston and Arkansas Monticello.
