Central Blanks RSU, Unbeaten Streak Up To Seven

Bronchos Earn 1-0 Win At Rogers State

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Central Oklahoma recorded yet another shutout Sunday afternoon and picked up a 1-0 win at Rogers State in the MIAA.

The Bronchos improved to 7-4-5 on the season with a 5-2-3 record in league play. Sunday is the third straight win for the Bronchos and UCO is unbeaten in seven straight games and the latter stretch includes six shutouts.

Sunday marked the ninth shutout of the season for the Bronchos, all courtesy of senior goalkeeper Avery Bass. The veteran leader of the program recorded the 21st shutout of her career to give UCO a key win heading into the final two matches of the regular season.

Bass made three saves on Sunday. She faced just seven total shots as UCO's defense clamped down on Rogers State.

UCO took 20 shots on the day and put 10 on goal. It was the 20th one that broke through.

In the 71st minute, the Bronchos earned a corner kick. The ball was passed back to Sheridan Ross, who sent it high into the box. It was then headed back to Rebekah George at the top of the 18-yard box. She looked to strike on a volley as it caromed out to her. While it appeared she missed the shot, she brought the ball down and then struck with her left foot, hit the right post, and gave UCO a 1-0 lead and the game winner.

Central didn't take another shot but didn't need to as the defense continued its dominant ways to earn the win.

UCO has just two games remaining in the 2025 regular season. The Bronchos host Pittsburg State Oct. 31 and Newman Nov. 5 in the finale. The Bronchos are currently in fifth place in the MIAA standings, two points back of Pitt State, and three points back of second place sides Northwest and Central Missouri.

The top eight teams qualify for the MIAA Women's Soccer Championship and quarterfinal matches are played Sunday, Nov. 9 on campus sites. The advancing teams will play the semifinals and championship match Nov. 14-16 in Wichita, Kansas.
