Bronchos Fall To Pitt State

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma fell short in a home MIAA matchup with Pittsburg State Friday afternoon at Tom Thompson Field, losing 2-0.
 
Central Oklahoma is now 7-5-5 on the season and 5-3-3 in the MIAA. The Bronchos are off Sunday and finish the 2025 regular season Wednesday at home against Newman.
 
Pittsburg State scored one in the first half and again in the second half and won despite UCO outshooting the Gorillas 19-6 in the game. The Bronchos put nine shots on goal but couldn't get one through. PSU put three shots on goal.
 
Senior goalkeeper Avery Bass made one save in the game. UCO got three shots from Kaitlyn Cotton, including one on goal and two from Sophia Gaskins, both on goal. Caleah Carter, Emma Nicholas, Jane Lockhart, and Jordan Tanges all took two shots and all put one on goal.
 
Pittsburg State scored in the 15th minute to take a 1-0 lead and then added the second goal in the 78th minute.
