Jett Huff Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Central Oklahoma Quarterback Threw For 457 Yards Saturday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma sophomore quarterback Jett Huff was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week Monday following a historic performance by the Broncho quarterback Saturday night.

UCO beat previously ranked No. 2 Central Missouri 57-40 at Chad Richison Stadium in the first MIAA game of the season for the Bronchos. Huff was historic.

The QB finished the game 42-for-54 with 457 yards and three touchdowns, and he added 35 yards rushing too. Huff's 42 completions are a new school record, and his yards passing are the second-most in school history. He connected with Terrill Davis 14 times, giving his receiver a new school record as well. Huff was also key in Central totaling 731 yards of total offense, another school record. And he was key in the Bronchos racking up 36 first downs – a new stadium record.

Huff threw his first touchdown to Ashton Schumman and the 36-yard score gave UCO a 6-0 lead. He hit Davis on a 15-yard score that put the Bronchos up 13-7, and then Davis again on a 55-yard strike that put the Bronchos in front 19-14.

Central Oklahoma, which is ranked No. 25 in the country in this week's D2football.com Top 25, heads to Nebraska Kearney in Week 3. Kickoff between the two 2-0 squads is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday night.
