PITTSBURG, Kan. – Central Oklahoma evened its MIAA series with Pittsburg State Saturday, taking a 6-1 victory in Game 2 of the three-game set.

Brady Gilmore had a big start for the Bronchos and picked up the win after six dominant innings of work. The junior right-hander allowed just two hits and struck out seven batters. Chase Yarger picked up a three-inning save with his relief performance. The redshirt freshman right-hander struck out two and only allowed one hit.

UCO got a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI groundout by Orlando Gonzalez that scored Kaleb Glass, and an RBI single to right field from Haden O'Toole that scored Shea Morrison. Glass had been hit by a pitch and Morrison drew a walk.

The Bronchos made it 4-0 in the fifth and on one swing of the bat. Ty Hammack hit a one-out double before Carson Carpenter turned on an 0-1 pitch and drilled it over the fence in right field for his team-leading 10th home run of the season.
