Bronchos Drop First Game In Missouri

Central Oklahoma Falls At Central Missouri In Top 10 Matchup

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma opened conference play Friday with a Top 10 matchup against Central Missouri and the Bronchos suffered the first loss of the season thanks to a 15-2 blitzing by the host Mules.

UCO (11-1, 0-1) plays Game 2 Saturday at 2 p.m. UCM (10-2, 1-0) hosts Game 3 Sunday at 1 p.m.

Friday afternoon, Central Missouri's offense struck early and often. The Mules hit a solo home run in the first inning, then hit solo homers on three straight at bats in the second inning to get a quick 4-0 lead. An RBI double, and RBI triple, and a sac-fly made it 7-0 in the third inning.

UCM got another run on a wild pitch in the fourth. The Bronchos finally got on the board after that in the top of the fifth. Orlando Gonzalez pelted a one-out home run to left field.

Central Missouri kept swinging though and soon built a 15-1 lead after six innings. Cameron Uselton hit a solo homer in the top of the seventh to give UCO a second run in the game.

Ty Hammack led off the top of the first with a double and moved to third on Kaleb Glass' sac-bunt. UCO's only other hit came in the seventh when Ryan Strickland singled after Uselton's homer.
