Bronchos Batter ECU

Central Oklahoma Posts 18-0 Victory Against East Central Tuesday In Edmond

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma scored early and often in an 18-0 run-rule victory over East Central Tuesday at Wendell Simmons Field.

Central Oklahoma improved to 9-0 on the season following the win, its second over ECU in 2024. The Tigers from Ada, Oklahoma are now 1-9 on the year.

"We were able to throw some guys today that we haven't been able to so that's a good thing," UCO head coach John Martin said. "We felt like we worked on some things too. It was a good day all around and we'll start getting ready for the next one now."

UCO, which beat East Central 11-1 in a seven-inning run rule to open the new season Feb. 1, stretched its win streak to 16 games against RUSO sister school, ECU. The Bronchos scored in all six innings they came to bat on Tuesday. Central Oklahoma posted six in the bottom of the first, one more in the second, four in the third and another in the fourth. Then four more in the fifth and two in the sixth to get to 18 for the day. It's the most runs scored by the Bronchos since putting up 26 at Oklahoma Christian last season.

Central Oklahoma used seven bullpen arms to tackle the Tigers on Tuesday. Aaron Hosack got the start and threw one inning, allowing one hit. Chase Yarger was the first out of the bullpen and threw two innings, allowing two hits and a walk. Yarger, making his collegiate debut, struck out three batters.
