Central Oklahoma Beats UT Dallas 104-63 In Sunday Matinee

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma led wire-to-wire in a 104-63 victory over UT Dallas Sunday afternoon, pushing the Broncho record to 4-2 on the season.

Central hosted the DIII school in a non-conference game. The Comets, from Richardson, Texas, will be a Division II member next year and compete in the Lone Star Conference.

Sunday in Edmond, it was UCO all the way through. There were no lead changes and the contest was only tied once, 3-3, in the first two minutes of the game.

Israel Hart opened the game with a 3-pointer before UTD earned a 3-point play with a layup and the foul. But it was soon 10-3 after that and UCO never looked back. Central Oklahoma used an 8-0 run to close the first half and earned its biggest lead of the first 20 minutes, 46-24, at the break.

The Bronchos had another 8-0 run late in the second half that turned into a 21-2 stretch over 4:17 as the game wound down to its end.

Central Oklahoma had a trio of players nearly outscore UT Dallas. Hart led the way with 20, Jacobi Sebock scored 19, and Parker Hannah had a career-high 18 points to give the three 57 to UTD's 63.

Jordan Thompson also scored in double figures, putting up 11 points all in the first half. Matthew Willenborg and Jarreth Ingram both scored nine points, JV Seat added eight, and Luke Haasl five. Ben Averitt (three) and Jack Robinson (two) rounded out the scoring for the Bronchos.

Hart had a team-high six assists to go with five rebounds and a pair of steals. Sebock grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and blocked three shots. Hannah hit four 3-pointers and also dished out to assists.

Thompson swiped a season-high six steals in the win.

UCO shot a blistering 62.5 percent from the floor on Sunday, making 35 of 56 shots. The Bronchos hit 10 of 17 from behind the arc for a 58.8 percent rate, and 24 of 28 free-throws for an 85.7 percent rate.

Central Oklahoma opens MIAA play this week with a Wednesday night meeting against Pittsburg State and a matchup Sunday afternoon with Missouri Southern.
