UCO Beat Northwestern Oklahoma State 92-77 Saturday In Edmond

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma posted a double-digit win for the second night in a row to open the season, with the Bronchos outpacing Northwestern Oklahoma State 92-77 to wrap up the Central Region Challenge at Hamilton Field House.

UCO (2-0) won by 16 points Friday night against UMary before the 15-point win Saturday.

That big lead started early. Israel Hart hit a 3-pointer for the game's first score. Jacobi Sebock added back-to-back layups and Luke Haasl had one two. JV Seat then hit a 3-pointer and Sebock finished a dunk to put a stamp on a 14-0 start for the Bronchos.

"The guys did a good job of coming out ready today," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "It was important that we start good and the guys were great. And, to get the big lead and stay in front, that's hard to do, but they were great and this will help us continue to get better."

Northwestern Oklahoma State followed with a 14-3 run, but the Bronchos never let go of the lead and got it back up to 17 points by halftime, 54-37.

NWOSU cut the lead to single digits just twice in the second, getting it to nine on both occasions. But the Bronchos were too much all day long. Central stretched the lead to 20 points when Parker Hannah knocked down a 3-pointer with 9:30 to play in the game. That was the biggest lead of the game for the Bronchos.

JV Seat led the way with 22 points, two rebounds and two steals. Jordan Thompson scored 20 points to go with nine assists, four rebounds and two steals. Sebock finished with 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds. He added three assists and three steals.

Hart and Luke Haasl both scored eight to give UCO 71 points from the starting lineups that all hit double figures on Friday. Hart added five assists. Haasl added two boards.

Matthew Willenborg gave UCO a boost off the bench with 10 points to go with six rebounds. Jarreth Ingram (four), Parker Hannah (three), Ben Averitt (two), and Jack Robinson (two) also scored off the bench.

Central Oklahoma shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the first half in building the big lead. UCO finished the game 32-for-63 from the floor for a 50.8 percent mark. Central hit 10 of 25 3-pointers (40 percent) and 18 of 27 free-throw attempts (66.7 percent).

UCO is home for much of November. The Bronchos host preseason No. 3 ranked West Texas A&M Thursday at Hamilton Field House.
