No. 13 UCO Strolls Past The Jennies

Addison Wimmer Slams Down 17 Kills To Key Sweep of Central Missouri

EDMOND – Addison Wimmer collected 14 of her match-high 17 kills in the final two sets to spearhead Central Oklahoma's thrashing of Central Missouri Friday night at Hamilton Field House.

The No. 13-ranked Bronchos overcame a slow start to brush past the Jennies 25-17, 25-14, 25-12 in the MIAA mismatch, improving to 22-2 overall and 9-2 in the league. UCO is back home Saturday for another conference contest against Missouri Southern at 2 p.m.

Wimmer was the catalyst Friday night. The senior outside hitter knocked down a variety of high-velocity shots in hitting a sizzling .424 with 17 kills in 33 attacks with three errors while adding five digs and two assisted blocks.

"Addie played really well tonight," head coach Edgar Miraku said. "She was swinging great and we did a good job setting her up. We took care of business and have to follow it up with the same focus tomorrow."

UCO had a .367 attack percentage as a team with 46 kills and a mere 10 miscues in 98 attempts. Sydney Huck had eight kills in hitting .412, while Lari Migliorino hit .700 with seven kills in 10 tries with no errors.

The Bronchos also got four kills apiece from Brynn Egger and Jenna Karp, with Karp adding four blocks (one solo, three assisted). Lindsey Houran directed the offense, distributing 36 assists in addition to making 13 digs, while Katie Le (14 digs) and Kaitlyn Parrott (eight) also had strong defensive outings.

Central Missouri grabbed a quick 2-0 lead in the opening set and it was back-and-forth throughout the early going before UCO finally gained control. A Migliorino kill ignited a 5-0 run that broke a 12-12 tie and Huck had three kills the rest of the way as the Bronchos pulled away to take the set.

Wimmer started to assert herself in the second set with a seven-kill outing. UCO used another five-point spurt to turn an early 2-1 deficit into a 6-2 lead and it wasn't close the rest of the way.

The Bronchos never trailed in the third set as Wimmer slammed down seven more kills in just 10 attempts and UCO cruised to its 15th sweep of the season.
