WACO, Texas – Central Oklahoma suffered its first loss of the season Saturday against Pittsburg State and the Bronchos dropped to No. 13 in the American Football Coaches' Association Top 25 on Monday.
UCO is 7-1 this season, with a 5-1 record in the MIAA. In Week 8, it was No. 9 UCO hosting No. 6 Pitt State. The Gorillas of Pittsburg (7-1, 6-1) moved up to No. 4 after the win in Edmond.
The D2Football.com poll was also announced Monday and Central dipped just from No. 8 to No. 9 in that Top 25. In Wayne Cavadi's NCAA Division II Power Rankings, UCO is holding on to the final spot in the top 10 list.
Central Oklahoma will play back-to-back road games before finishing the 2024 regular season in Edmond. As the calendar shifts to November, UCO plays at Missouri Western and at Washburn Nov. 2 & 9 respectively. Central hosts Emporia State Nov. 16 for the regular season finale.
