Football Spring Game Scheduled For April 28

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma football is hosting its annual Spring Game Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at Chad Richison Stadium.

The annual intrasquad scrimmage will feature special teams and redzone simulations before a 60-play scrimmage.

In addition to the action on the field, fanfare will be a big part of this year's Spring Game. A DJ will provide entertainment for the night, with fan contests and giveaways taking place throughout the game.

Adam Dorrel is working his second spring as head football coach at Central Oklahoma. He was hired in December 2021 and led the Bronchos through last spring before embarking on his first season with UCO in 2022. Dorrel led the Bronchos to a 6-5 record in his first campaign, putting UCO above .500 for the first time since 2018.

"We're looking forward to seeing our fans, alumni, and the faculty and staff at UCO come out next Friday," Dorrel said. "We've had a good spring so far and we're excited to showcase the guys. The Spring Game is a fun event and we've got some fun things planned too. It should be a great night and we're looking forward to it."

The Bronchos will wrap up five weeks of spring football with next Friday's affair. UCO will then break for the summer before reporting to camp this August ahead of the 2023 season.

Central Oklahoma opens the 2023 season Thursday, Aug. 31 against Nebraska Kearney at Chad Richison Stadium. The Bronchos are scheduled to play five home games in Edmond this fall.
