Evan Griffith, Caleb Kimmel, Named All-America Scholars

UCO Men's Golf Duo Earned Srixon/Cleveland Award from Coaches Association

NORMAN, Okla. – A pair of Central Oklahoma golfers earned prestigious postseason academic honors Thursday when the Golf Coaches Association of America announced its 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar awards.

Evan Griffith and Caleb Kimmel were both recognized for their work in the classroom as well as on the course.
 
The GCAA recognizes student-athletes that are sophomores and above, participate in at least 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78, and maintain at least a 3.2 grade point average.
 
Both Griffith and Kimmel are majors at Central Oklahoma's renowned PGA Golf Management program (PGM). Griffith, from Greenwood, Arkansas, led the Bronchos this past season with a 74.1 scoring average after 12 tournaments (34 rounds). He is also now a two-time recipient of the honor after being named All-America Scholar in 2020-21. Kimmel, from Olathe, Kansas, was second on the team with a 74.7 average and he also played 12 tournaments for 34 rounds.
 
The two will be junior members of the UCO men's golf team this Fall and begin play in September.
