Central Oklahoma first-year head football coach Adam Dorrel will speak to the media in Kansas City for the first time since he was hired to lead the Bronchos this past Winter.

Dorrel played in the MIAA as a student-athlete before beginning his coaching career, where he led his alma mater Northwest Missouri to three NCAA Division II national championships.

MIAA Commissioner Mike Racy will announce the 2022 Preseason Coaches' and Media Polls to open Media Day and officially kick off the new season.

Dorrel will be joined in Kansas City by a pair of Bronchos.

Senior veteran tight end and two-time All-MIAA selection Daunte McGee will be in Kansas City later this month, as will sophomore defensive back Rae'Quan Wicks.

McGee has played in every game (34) for the Bronchos since 2018. He arrived on campus in 2017, sat out a redshirt season, and is now a sixth-year senior utilizing an eligibility extension thanks to the canceled 2020 season. McGee has caught 47 passes for 457 yards and two touchdowns in his career. He earned Third Team All-MIAA honors in 2019 and 2021.

Wicks joined the Bronchos as a walk-on during the 2020 off year. He soon earned a scholarship and found regular snaps on defense in 2021. His interception with 1:20 to play in the fourth quarter in Week 1 against Missouri Western last season sealed a 24-20 Broncho victory.

Central Oklahoma opens the 2022 season against Missouri Western. The Bronchos will travel to St. Joseph, Missouri on Thursday, Sept. 1 to take on the Griffons.

UCO will make its home debut, in the newly expanded Chad Richison Stadium, Thursday, Sept. 1 against Emporia State.
