UCO Adds Transfer

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma's men's basketball program announced the addition of a Division I transfer Monday with Curtis Haywood II set to be joining the Bronchos for the 2022-23 season.

"We are so thrilled to have Curtis join our team," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "He is a great fit and will be able to make a difference on both sides of the ball. He is a big-time competitor that will help our team continue to compete for championships."

Haywood II comes to Edmond from Tulsa, where he spent the past three seasons playing for the Golden Hurricane. Prior to TU, Haywood spent two seasons at Georgia Tech.

An Oklahoma City native, Haywood played high school basketball at Mustang. He was on the Bronco squad there that went 28-0 and won a state championship his sophomore season. Haywood II spent one year at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.

Haywood II went to Georgia Tech for two seasons and played in 44 games, making 23 starts for the Yellow Jackets.

Haywood II transferred to Tulsa and sat out the 2019-20 season. He made 30 appearances, including a dozen starts, this past season after making 23 appearances including 17 starts during his junior season in 2020-21.

He'll join a Central Oklahoma squad in 2022-23 that is coming off its first MIAA Championship this past winter. UCO also made its 18th appearance in the NCAA Division II national tournament.
