Dylan Lucas Named MIAA co-Wrestler of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma newcomer Dylan Lucas was named MIAA co-Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Lucas, from Ardmore, Oklahoma, dominated in his return to the mat after a lengthy layoff, going 5-0 with five bonus-point wins.

The sophomore 133-pounder, who hasn't competed since a runner-up finish in the 2017 junior college national tournament, opened the season last Friday with a 12-2 major decision in UCO's 30-3 dual win over Northern State.

Lucas followed that up Sunday by winning the Dan Harris Open with two technical falls and two falls, including a first-period pin in the finals.

Lucas sat out a redshirt season in 2015-16 at Oklahoma, before spending the following year at Northeastern Oklahoma (NEO) in Miami, where he went 28-3 and earned All-American honors. Lucas won four state titles in Florida before moving to Ardmore, when he won a fifth state championship for Plainview.
