Bronchos Downed In Missouri

JOPLIN, Mo. – No. 19 Central Oklahoma hit a season low .110 and found itself on the wrong side of a 3-0 sweep at Missouri Southern Tuesday night.
 
UCO drops to 20-4 on the year with the loss and is now 10-4 in MIAA play.
 
Missouri Southern took an early lead in the first set against the Bronchos Tuesday and never looked back. After leading 4-1, UCO went behind 6-5 and very soon after trailed 16-6. Missouri Southern won the first, 25-13.
 
Central Oklahoma put up a fight in the second set, however, never grabbed the lead. The Bronchos and Lions were tied eight times in the frame before MSSU benefitted from a pair of attack errors to win, 25-23.
 
The third set resembled the first, with MSSU taking a 6-5 lead and running away with it before a 25-15 win gave the host Lions the match.
 
Jenna Karp led UCO with 10 kills, hitting .320 on 25 attacks. The middle also had one of four Central blocks in the match.
 
Sydney Huck added seven kills, while Mallorie Koehn and Brynn Egger both finished with four kills.
 
Lindsey Houran totaled 24 assists with seven digs and a pair of kills. Jaedynn Evans led the UCO defense with 18 digs. Koehn and Egger also equaled each other with nine digs each on defense.
 
Central Oklahoma opened a short road trip Tuesday night. The Bronchos head to Topeka, Kansas for a Friday night match at Washburn.
