UCO Welcomes New AT Staff

Two Central Alums Back With The Bronchos

EDMOND – University of Central Oklahoma athletic director Stan Wagnon announced Wednesday changes to the athletic training department with the addition of two new but familiar faces to the staff.

Ross McCulloh has been hired and will serve as Head Athletic Trainer at UCO and Melissa Katzenberger has also been named Assistant Athletic Trainer. Both come to Central from Langston University and both are also making their return to Broncho athletics after previously graduating from the UCO Graduate Athletic Training Program.

"It is especially gratifying to bring Ross and Melissa back to UCO," Wagnon said. "Not only do we celebrate their return as graduates of UCO's graduate athletic training program, but we hire them with the utmost confidence that comes from knowing the curriculum and influence and mentoring provided in that program. I've heard so many positive things about both Ross and Melissa from some of the very best professionals in the area. They've served successfully in a well-run athletics department at nearby Langston University, and we're excited to welcome them back to Broncho athletics."

McCulloh, a 2010 graduate of UCO's GATP, served in the same capacity at Langston for the past 10 academic years. There he oversaw the sports medicine and athletic training program that handled seven programs.

McCulloh is a native of Ardmore, Oklahoma and graduated with his bachelor's degree in Health and Exercise Science from Oklahoma before completing his Master of Science in Athletic Training at UCO.

Katzenberger, a 2014 grad of UCO's GATP, served under McCulloh at Langston since July of that year, assisting in the coverage of seven programs.

A native of Windsor, Missouri, Katzenberger graduated with her bachelor's degree in Biology from Central Missouri in 2012 before enrolling in Central's renowned athletic training program and completing her Master of Science in Athletic Training.

Both are active members of the National Athletic Training Association and are licensed in the state of Oklahoma.
