Adam Dorrel Press Conference Scheduled For Wednesday

Introduction of New Football Coach Will Air on MIAA Network

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma will host an introductory press conference, welcoming new head football coach Adam Dorrel, Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. in Constitution Hall at the Nigh University Center.

The event will be streamed live on The MIAA Network.

UCO Director of Athletics Stan Wagnon will speak along with university president Patti Neuhold-Ravikumar. Dorrel will be introduced and speak as well. Media will have an opportunity for questions immediately after that, and fans, alumni, supporters, faculty and staff, will all have an opportunity for a meet & greet with the new coach at a small reception following the ceremony.

Dorrel was named to the new post Sunday, becoming the 14th head coach in school history. He won three national championships (2013, 2015, 2016) while leading Northwest Missouri State from 2011-16. He also won a title as a graduate assistant (1999) and an assistant coach (2009) in his time there. Dorrel most recently led Abilene Christian from 2016-2021.

The University of Central Oklahoma football program has 644 wins in its history, ranking fourth among all Division II institutions. UCO will kick off the 2022 season in September.
