UCO Finishes Third in MIAA Commissioner's Cup

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Central Oklahoma athletics department finished third in the 2018-19 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Commissioner's Cup, presented by McCownGordon Construction, the league office announced Thursday.

Points are awarded based on an institution's finish in each of the league's sponsored sports.
 
Central Oklahoma tallied 8.892 points this past academic year – with conference championships in soccer (regular season & postseason tournament), softball (regular season & postseason tournament), as well as tennis (postseason tournament).
 
UCO's tennis team finished second in the MIAA regular season standings as did the Central wrestling team, while the Broncho baseball team finished runners-up in the MIAA postseason tournament.
 
UCO volleyball landed a third-place finish in the regular season and the Broncho women's golf team also finished third.
 
UCO has finished third as a department in the each of the first three MIAA Commissioner's Cup races since the league began awarding the cup during the 2016-17 academic year.
 
Central Oklahoma was in second place following the fall season, and slipped to eighth place after the winter before climbing back up to third.
