OKLAHOMA CITY – The University of Central Oklahoma athletic department hosted a Stampede Club get-together at the CHK | Central Boathouse Friday night, rounding up more than 125 supporters, alums, and former Bronchos for fun and fellowship.

"We had a great turnout and we are going to keep building off of this and do more events like this," UCO Athletic Director Eddie Griffin said. "It was so great to see all of those supporters in the same room; from old football guys and old wrestling guys to fans and supporters of all 15 of ours sports. It's positive for everybody to know that we're all Bronchos and we just want to get everyone together and have a good time and support UCO."

UCO head football coach Nick Bobeck, head wrestling coach Todd Steidley, and head volleyball coach Edgar Miraku all spoke to the crowd at the boathouse before spilling outside to watch the No. 1-ranked Central Oklahoma rowing team as it took to the Oklahoma River for a tri-dual against Seattle Pacific and Barry.

"We just want to thank everyone for their support of UCO athletics," Griffin said. "It means so much to us. We need their support and we're really appreciative of that. It was great to see everyone together and having a good time and we look forward to doing it again."

Central Oklahoma's Stampede Club, the official booster club of the university's athletic department, holds meetings every few months in an effort to gather as many Bronchos together as possible. UCO hosted a similar event at the brand new, sparkling, Sports Performance Center earlier this year. Griffin said there are plans to host a summer cookout on campus this August with fall sports introductions.
