Bronchos Run-Rule Northwest In Series Opener

EDMOND - Dylan Hall struck out a Northwest Missouri batter looking on his 100th pitch of the afternoon and the University of Central Oklahoma baseball team cruised to a 10-0 run-rule win over Northwest Missouri in the first of two Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association games Friday at Wendell Simmons Field.

Hall (3-1) struck out nine batters on the day, allowing just three hits and one walk. The Stafford, Va. native went the distance in the seven-inning game.

At the plate, Philip Scott continued to lead UCO. The junior went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. He hit a triple and the first and later scored, then he hit a double in the seventh and scored again.

UCO also got a boost from a pair of Iowa boys. Kyle Crowl hit a solo home run in the third inning and Kace Massner hit a two-run bomb to center field, scoring Crowl, in the seventh.

The Bronchos blasted 13 hits on the day, a season-high, and had four extra base hits.

Central Oklahoma and Northwest Missouri will play a second game Friday, with the MIAA schools wrapping up a three-game series on Saturday at 1 p.m.
