Hornets Too Much For UCO

EMPORIA, Kan. (April 3) – Central Oklahoma fell behind early and never recovered in dropping a 25-8 decision to Emporia State here Sunday.
 
The Hornets pushed across six first-inning runs, led 8-0 after two and erupted for 11 runs in the fifth en route to finishing off a sweep of the three-game Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association series.
 
Jon Kamies had a pair of home runs to lead the Bronchos, while T.J. Sparr had two hits with a solo homer.
 
UCO fell to 19-12 on the season and 11-9 in the league.  Emporia improved to 24-7 and 16-4.
 
The Bronchos return to action Tuesday with a 5 p.m. contest at conference rival Missouri Southern.
