PITTSBURG, Kan. (Nov. 1) -- Taylor Bevis knocked down 21 kills and No. 9-ranked Central Oklahoma disposed of Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rival Pittsburg State in three sets here Tuesday night.

The Bronchos pulled out tough 25-21 and 26-24 victories in the first two sets before rolling to a 25-15 triumph in the third to complete their 23rd sweep of the season in improving to 26-2 overall and 12-2 in the conference.

"Any road win in this conference is good so we're happy with that," head coach Edgar Miraku said.  "We played well in stretches, but weren't as consistent as we need to be."

Bevis had a .357 attack percentage on the night, making just six errors while collecting her 21 kills in 42 attacks in addition to making 10 digs.  Fulani Petties chipped in seven kills and Allison Barr added four kills with five blocks.

UCO also got 38 assists and two assisted blocks from Katy Davis and a match-high 12 digs from Dominique Lipari.

The Bronchos trailed 4-3 early in the first set before ripping off five unanswered points in going ahead 8-4 on Lipari's service ace.  PSU ralled to regain the lead at 18-17, but Bevis tied it with a kill and an error put UCO on top to stay.

The Gorillas led 10-7 and 12-9 in the second set in an attempt to tie the match before UCO went on an 8-2 run to grab a 17-14 advantage.  It was still a three-point lead at 21-18, but PSU rebounded to surge in front 24-23 and was serving for the set.

Bevis responded with a kill to tie it, Barr followed with a slam dunk at the net to put the Bronchos in front and Petties hammered down a kill to give the Bronchos the set.

The third set was close early before UCO went on a 5-0 spurt to turn a 7-6 lead into a 12-6 cushion and the Bronchos coasted in from there.

UCO continues a five-match road-swing Friday at Missouri Southern before going to Southwest Baptist Saturday.
