Bronchos fall to Nebraska-Kearney in OT

KEARNEY, Neb. - Central Oklahoma rolled into Nebraska-Kearney on a three-game winning streak, and as one of the hottest teams in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. But after Tori Weber scored the golden goal in the 98th minute, the Bronchos will have to start fresh.

Nebraska-Kearney won 1-0 in overtime on Friday. UCO is now 6-2 in the MIAA with three games left and the Bronchos travel to Hays, Kan. for a Sunday matchup with Fort Hays State, who was 6-1 before playing Northeastern State on Friday.

The Bronchos had the upper hand on Friday. UCO took 14 shots on the afternoon, nine of those on target. Caitlin Moore led the team with three shots on goal. Unfortunately, UCO couldn't get any of them past Nebraska-Kearney's  Allie Prososki, who made nine saves on the day.

Ally Salls, coming off not just three-straight wins in goal for the Bronchos, but two-straight shutouts, finally let one slip past her. Salls hadn't given up a goal in 184 minutes of play before Kearney's game-winner on Friday. Salls finished the day with four saves. The sophomore now has 49 saves on the season.

UCO plays at Fort Hays State on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Bronchos return home for the final two matches of the regular season. Northeastern State plays at Tom Thompson Field on Friday, Oct. 28, and Missouri Southern will be the final game of the season, Sunday, Oct. 30.
