EDMOND (Oct. 23) – Four different players scored and Central Oklahoma took advantage of its limited offensive chances in a 4-0 drubbing of Missouri Southern Friday afternoon at Tom Thompson Field.

The Bronchos had only 10 attempts in the game, but four of their six shots on goal found the mark as UCO improved to 8-5-2 on the season.

"It was a very good win and we did a great job converting our scoring chances, but we still need to be more consistent with our effort," head coach Mike Cook said.  "We had a lot of players get playing time and that's always good to see."

The Bronchos took the lead just over five minutes into the game, stretched their advantage to 2-0 by halftime and added two second-half scores in easily subduing the Lions.

Katie Killion gave UCO the early lead with her sixth goal of the season at the 5:10 mark, taking a great lead pass from Kenna Dyess on a breakaway before knocking the ball into the right side of the net from 10 yards out.

Killion got the assist on the next goal with a nifty feed that Victoria Neblett converted into her first score of the season on a shot from 20 feet away in the 34th minute.

The Bronchos pushed their lead to 3-0 at 59:20 when Paige Matacchiera gathered in a long pass from Ashley McDaniel and booted the ball over the fast-approaching goalkeeper from the top of the box for her initial goal of the year.

Camrie Hurst finished off the scoring with her first career goal in the 82nd minute on an easy open-net shot off a rebound, with Blaire Ferguson getting the assist.

Elle Stover and Ally Salls split time in goal to secure the shutout for UCO, with Stover making two sensational saves in the first half to keep the Lions off the scoreboard.

The Bronchos wrap up the regular season schedule Sunday, hosting league rival Southwest Baptist at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
