Bronchos, FHSU Battle To Tie

Box Score

HAYS, Kan. (Oct. 12) --
Central Oklahoma and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rival Fort Hays State battled to a scoreless deadlock here Sunday afternoon.

It was the second tie in three games for the Bronchos now 8-2-2 on the season and 5-1-2 in league play.

"It was a very tough, hard-fought game and a good result given as we're a bit banged up," head coach Mike Cook said.  "We had some good chances and still need to do a better job of finishing."

The Tigers had a 19-13 advantage in shots, but goalkeeper Brandi Bartley made eight saves as UCO recorded its ninth shutout of the season, including the sixth straight.  Sarah Purcell had three shots on goal and Emily Precure two for the Bronchos.

UCO returns to action Friday when it hosts conference leader Central Missouri at 4 p.m.
