SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Nov. 10) –
Central Oklahoma didn't do much right in its 2012-13 season opener here Saturday afternoon in falling to Minnesota-Duluth 64-44 on the first day of the St. Mary's Classic.

The Bronchos shot just 29.1 percent from the field, while also turning the ball over 25 times and getting outrebounded 51-29.  UCO hit just 16-of-55 shots, including only 2-of-16 (12.5 percent) from 3-point range.

Alyssa Fuxa was the only player to score more than six points for the Bronchos, hitting 7-of-13 shots with a 3-pointer in a game-high 17 point outing in addition to blocking four shots.

Savannah Hamilton had five points and Fuxa a layup in the opening four minutes to give UCO a 7-6 lead, but the Bronchos hit just three of their next 21 shots from the field as the Bulldogs went on a 27-11 run to take a 33-18 halftime lead.

UMD, which returned four starters from last year's NCAA Division II national tournament team, stretched its advantage to 21 (48-27) by the 10:48 mark of the second half when UCO tried to rally.

Whitney Dunn made back-to-back buckets to ignite a 14-2 run that got the Bronchos within 50-41 on a short Fuxa jumper with 5:49 remaining, but the Bulldogs answered with six unanswered points to go up 15 (56-41) and wrap up the win.

UCO finishes up the two-day event Sunday with a 1 p.m. contest against intrastate rival Cameron at 1 p.m.
