EDMOND (Jan. 15) --
Ashley Beckley's all-around brilliance and a balanced scoring attack that buried Cameron under a bevy of inside buckets carried Central Oklahoma to an impressive 81-64 Lone Star Conference North Division drubbing of Cameron Saturday night at Hamilton Field House.

Beckley scored a game-high 18 points to lead five players in double figures while also handing out a career-high seven assists, tying a career-best with five steals and hauling down six rebounds as UCO won its third straight game.

The Bronchos made 16 layups -- 11 in the first half -- and outscored CU 38-18 in the paint, improving to 9-5 on the year and 2-0 in the LSC North.  The Aggies, who knocked off No. 6-ranked Northeastern State in their last outing, fell to 8-8 and 1-1.

UCO also got a career-high 13 points and six rebounds from Alex Richardson, 12 points and four assists from Britney Morgan, 12 points from Kylie Mayes and 11 points from Tarrington OakesHeather Davis chipped in nine points and seven rebounds, both season highs.

And the Bronchos were playing without second-leading scorer Alyssa Fuxa, who suffered a knee injury in Wednesday's win over Southwestern Oklahoma that will sideline here indefinitely.

"We played a pretty complete game and I was really proud of our effort tonight," UCO coach Guy Hardaker said.  "We did a great job moving the ball, we rebounded well and did a good job protecting the basketball for the most part.  It was a good win for us."

The game was tied 6-6 early when Morgan hit a 3-pointer from the wing and the Bronchos went on to a 10-point lead at 24-14 on a Richardson layup with 5:56 left in the half.

CU rallied to tie it at 31-all with just 1:28 remaining, but Davis hit two free throws at 1:20 and Oaks followed a Beckley steal by making two more foul shots with 39 seconds left to give UCO a 35-31 halftime lead.

It was a 42-40 advantage early in the second half when Beckley made a pair of charity tosses to ignite an 8-1 lead that pushed the lead to 50-41 with 14:38 left to play and the Bronchos really took control when Mayes scored four straight points to make it a 12-point cushion (62-50) at the 9:06 mark.

The Aggies tried to get in the contest and scored four straight points to get within 62-54, but an 8-0 spurt put the game away for good.  Morgan started it with a trey from the corner and Davis did the rest, making a pair of free throws after rebounding a Cameron miss and then knocking down a long 3-pointer from the wing after pulling down yet another defensive board to make it 70-54.

UCO's lead peaked at 20 (76-56) with 4:40 remaining and the Bronchos coasted in from there.

Central continues a three-game homestand Wednesday, hosting Texas A&M-Commerce at 6 p.m.
