EDMOND (April 25) – Former Central Oklahoma defensive standouts Jermelle Cudjo and Freddie Harris have both signed NFL free agent contracts with the St. Louis Rams.
Cudjo is a 6-2, 293-pound lineman from Lawton, while Harris is a 6-2, 227-pound end from Carrollton, Texas who is projected to be an outside linebacker in the professional ranks.
Both players had impressive outings during UCO's spring pro day, with Harris running the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds in addition to registering a 37-inch vertical leap. Cudjo had a 5.1 time in the 40 with a 30-inch vertical jump.
Cudjo was a four-year starter for the Bronchos, earning All-Lone Star Conference North Division honors three times. He had 58 tackles with 12.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks as a senior last fall and played in the Cactus Bowl, an NCAA Division II all-star game in Kingsville, Texas in January.
Harris played three years at UCO and was a first-team All-LSC North Division pick following his senior season last fall. He made 56 tackles with 12.5 for loss and a team-high 6.0 sacks.
