GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Jan. 3) -- Kelly Henderson's 16-second fall highlighted a four-pin blitz by Central Oklahoma that carried the No. 6-ranked Bronchos to a 35-10 rout of Colorado State-Pueblo here Saturday morning at the Lone Star Duals.

UCO had little trouble with the Thunderwolves in returning to action for the first time since Dec. 13, improving to 3-1 with the lopsided win.  The Bronchos return to the all-day event at 12 p.m. to face New Mexico Highlands before taking on Virginia Tech at 2 p.m. and Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 6 p.m.

Henderson had one of three first-period falls for UCO with his lightening-quick pin at 157 pounds. The redshirt freshman threw Keenen Funk to his back five seconds into the match and ended it soon after.

Tim Elliott needed just 1:36 to record his sixth fall of the year at 133 and Tommy McCarty took only 1:04 to get a pin in his season debut at 174.  Cameron Gladd ended the dual for the Bronchos with a second-period fall at heavyweight.

UCO also got major decisions from 165 Mikey Morgan and 197 Zach James, while Scott Berens pulled out a 6-5 win at 141 on a riding-time point. Morgan had four takedowns in an easy 11-2 victory and James did the same in a 10-2 romp, securing the major decision on a takedown at the final buzzer.

“It was a good start for us,” UCO coach David James said. “We had some guys come out real aggressive and it's always big to get bonus wins.”
