    Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach
Bill Hamiter assists with the Central Oklahoma volleyball program and has been involved in coaching volleyball for over 32 years.

In 2001, Bill was hired by USA Volleyball as the head coach of the USA Men's National Sitting Team. In 2003 Hamiter lead the Men’s Team in qualifying for the Athens Paralympic Games at the first ParaPan American Games by winning the Gold medal. At the 2004 Athens Games the men’s team placed sixth - its highest finish ever.

In 2009 Hamiter added head coaching duties for the USA Women’s National Sitting Team as well as High Performance Director for the Sitting Program. The Women’s team had its highest finish ever at the 2010 World Championship winning a silver medal and won a silver medal at the London Paralympic Games in 2012.

In 2016 at the Rio Olympics, the Women's team brought home the gold medal. In May of 2016 Bill was presented with the All Time Great Coach award by USA Volleyball.

Prior to joining USA Volleyball Bill worked at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene for 19 years. Bill is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University where he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees.

Hamiter was the head coach at Southern Nazarene for five years earning five District championships, two Regional championships, two national tournament births and five District 9 Coach of the Year awards.

In addition, he has served as assistant or volunteer assistant for UCO and Southern Nazarene. Hamiter has coached in the USA Volleyball National High Performance Camps for both girls and boys five times and as an assistant with the Boys Youth National team in 2000.

Bill has served as the President of the Oklahoma Regional Volleyball Association since 2007 and on the Board of Directors since 1991. Hamiter served on the USA Volleyball National Junior Volleyball Board for 10 years and the National Junior Elite Development Committee for 7 years.

Hamiter also coached varsity volleyball at Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City, Okla. for five years winning the state championship three years and runner-up two years. Bill is a Cadre member of USA Volleyballs Coaching Accreditation Program and has instructed coaches in both the standing discipline and sitting discipline of volleyball around the US and internationally.

He has two children, a son-in-law and a granddaughter.
