Caroline Escobar

In her second year with the University of Central Oklahoma rowing program is assistant coach Caroline Escobar. A native of Coral Gables, Fla., Escobar comes to UCO from Miami, where she coached rowing at Ransom Everglades School.

Escobar joined UCO's staff ahead of the 2018-19 season and was crucial in Central Oklahoma successfully defending its NCAA National Championship. The Bronchos won its second national title in as many years in 2019, sweeping both the Varsity 8+ and the Varsity 4+ national finals to take the team title for the second year in a row.

After playing multiple sports throughout high school, Caroline came across the opportunity to walk on and row as a freshman at Miami. She immediately fell in love with the sport, and quickly found herself stroking the 2V 8+ just her second semester for the Hurricanes. This jump sent her to races like San Diego Crew Classic, Clemson Invite, and the ACC Championship, winning third her first time there. After realizing she could graduate early, Caroline rowed one more year, before focusing her efforts on her studies her final year at UM. She earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Miami in 2015.

While pursuing her masters at Florida State University, Caroline found herself coaching at the FSU Rowing Club. She stayed with them for one year before graduating with her master's degree in Applied American Politics and Policy in 2017. Caroline returned home and began her career in rowing, coaching high school students at Ransom Everglades. While there, Caroline lead the novice and girls varsity programs. Her girls finished the year with multiple scholastic wins in both sweep and sculling events.

Escobar assists with both varsity and novice rowers, as well as helping out in the recruiting scene.
