Chad Johnson

Chad Johnson enters his second year with the University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball program. This will be his first season as a part-time assistant coach following a year of volunteering his services in 2019-20.

Johnson came to UCO from the Dallas Mavericks, where in 2018-19 he worked as a Player Development Intern, assisting the staff in player workouts, video breakdown, analytics, and scouting.

Originally from Edmond, Johnson graduated from Edmond Santa Fe in 2011. Was named MVP of the Jim Thorpe All-Star Game as a senior for the Wolves.

Johnson then went to Lipscomb University and played basketball there from 2011-15, twice earning All-Academic honors. He earned his bachelors degree in Journalism and New Media as well as his masters degree in Business Management while there.

Johnson worked in the banking and finance sector in the greater Nashville area for two years while coaching at Nolensville High School in 2017-18, where he served as the head freshman boys coach and varsity boys assistant coach before beginning his work with the Mavericks in 2018. Johnson continued to work for Dallas as an Independent Analytics Assistant during the 2019-20 season while additionally working as a volunteer for the Bronchos.
