Sophomore transfer returning to the field after a lengthy layoff . . . Hasn’t played since 2003 season at Division I Rice, but had a solid spring with the Bronchos and is expected to see extensive action at middle linebacker.

Rice: Spent three years with the Owls, redshirting in 2002 and then lettering in a back-up role the following season while making seven tackles with one sack . . . Missed the 2004 season to injury, then sat out last year after transferring to UCO.

High School: Four-year starter at Pauls Valley High School, finishing his career with more than 400 tackles and seven interceptions . . . Two-time All-County and All-District pick, earning defensive MVP honors both years . . . Also lettered in baseball and basketball.

Personal: An exercise/fitness management major looking to become a strength and conditioning coach . . . Birthdate is Jan. 7, 1983.
