Biography

Lanky right-hander with a chance to be the ace of the pitching staff in 2012 . . . Will definitely be one of the team's top starters and showed glimpses last year of becoming a dominating force on the mound . . . Doesn't get rattled and is capable of giving the Bronchos quality innings with every start . . . Transferred to UCO last year from long-time Division I power Oklahoma State.

2011:  Was a second-team All-Lone Star Conference selection after going 3-4 with a fine 3.62 earned run average, which ranked seventh-best in the league . . . Started all 11 games he pitched in and struck out 48 batters in 54 2/3 innings, second-best on the team . . . Pitched at least five innings in seven of 11 starts and had two complete-game outings . . . Fanned five-plus batters five times, with a high of nine in five-inning stint against Abilene Christian . . . Picked up wins against East Central, Northeastern State and Tarleton State, giving up just two hits while striking out six in six innings during 7-0 shutout of ECU.

OSU:  Appeared in four games with one start in 2010, finishing with a 6.35 ERA . . . Pitched in 10 games with three starts in 2009, going 1-0 with two saves . . . Picked up the save in his first collegiate appearance, giving up one run in three innings against Manhattan . . . Also earned the save with a three-inning stint against Gonzaga and gained the win in first career start against Western Illinois, giving up three runs in seven innings of work.

High School:  Four-year standout at Clinton High School . . . Batted .500 and was an All-State pick in baseball as a senior . . . Also lettered in football and basketball, earning All-District honors on the gridiron after helping the Red Tornadoes to the state championship.

Personal:  A business major . . . Father (Bill) played baseball at Kansas . . . Lists the St. Louis Cardinals as his favorite professional team . . . Birthdate is Oct. 18, 1989.
