Biography

One of the top pitchers in NCAA Division II and a prime All-America candidate . . . Took over as the team ace early last year and put together a dominating junior campaign . . . Should benefit from last year’s success and be even better this spring, with the Bronchos looking for this senior star to once again headline the starting rotation . . . Hard-throwing right-hander with pinpoint control and a workhorse who will eat up lots of innings . . . Came to UCO from Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.

2014:  Was named Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Pitcher of the Year in addition to earning first-team All-Central Region honors by Daktronics, the American Baseball Coaches Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association . . . Threw in 15 games with 13 starts and went 8-2 with one save and a sparkling 2.12 earned run average, which led the MIAA and was a single-season school record . . . Struck out 59 and walked just 20 in 72 1/3 innings as opponents hit a mere .235 . . . Went at least five innings in 11 of 13 starts and had one complete game, a one-hit shutout of Emporia State to earn MIAA Pitcher of the Week recognition . . . Fanned season-high 10 in six innings work against Lincoln while giving up four hits and one run . . . Struck out five-plus batters seven times . . . Tossed six shutout innings while allowing three hits and striking out eight in win over Southwest Baptist . . . Gave up three hits with five strikeouts and no walks in five-inning stint against Northeastern State . . . Got the final two outs to pick up lone save in 3-1 win over Lindenwood. 

Juco:  Spent three years at NOC-Tonkawa, redshirting in 2011 before filling a starting role the next two seasons . . . Pitched in 16 games with 10 starts for the Mavericks as a sophomore, going 6-3 with a fine 3.78 ERA . . . Threw a team-high 69 innings, allowing just 18 walks while striking out 68 . . . Also batted .256 with five doubles.

High School:  Oklahoman Little All-City pick and an honorable mention All-Stater as a senior at Blanchard High School after going 8-4 with a 2.00 ERA and hitting .466.

Personal:  General studies major looking to become a fire fighter . . . Enjoys fishing and hunting as hobbies . . . Names the St. Louis Cardinals as his favorite team . . . Lists “Sandlot” as his top sports movie . . . Birthdate is May 4, 1992.
