Biography

Tremendous athlete and returning part-time starter looking to earn a spot in the lineup . . . Started in four different positions last year, but figures to fight for the main left field berth this spring and could also see action at designated hitter . . . Speedy senior who returned to the diamond after a long layoff last year and should be much better this spring . . . Came to UCO in 2007 to play football and saw action in the secondary in all 11 games . . . Hadn't played baseball since his senior year of high school in 2004 before joining the baseball team in the fall of 2008.

2009:  Played in 36 games with 35 starts and batted .295 with 11 doubles, 18 RBI and seven stolen bases . . . Made 18 starts at second base while also getting starts at DH (eight), third base (five) and left field (four) . . . Had nine multi-hit games and put together hitting streaks of five and seven games . . . Hit .444 (13-for-27) with four doubles and six runs in seven-game streak.

Juco:  Played football two years at Santa Ana College (Calif.), earning All-Conference honors as a sophomore.

High School:  First-team All-League pick as a senior at Epison High School in Huntington Beach, Calif. after hitting .400 with 16 home runs . . . Also an All-County selection in football.

Personal:  A finance major . . . Birthdate is Feb. 26, 1986.
