Biography

Sophomore letterman ready to be more of a factor this season . . . Saw limited playing time last year, but will vie for extended action in left field and is a speedy youngster with the ability to help . . . Could also see time as a relief pitcher.

2011:  Appeared in 18 games with 10 starts, finishing with a .314 average that included one triple and six runs batted in . . . Made five starts at designated hitter, three in left field and two in right field . . . Hit .471 (8-for-17) with seven runs and four RBI during a four-game hitting streak.

High School:  Played at South Lakes High School in Reston, Va.

Personal:  An engineering major . . . Lists the Pittsburgh Steelers as his top professional team . . . Names “Remember the Titans” as his favorite sports movie . . . Birthdate is April 25, 1989.
