Senior pitcher expected to fill a spot in the starting rotation this spring . . . Left-handed hurler with a variety of pitches and a competitive veteran poised to deliver a banner season . . . Showed what he's capable of last year and should really benefit from that experience and success in 2009.

2008:  Appeared in 15 games with eight starts, finishing 4-3 with a solid 4.11 earned run average . . . Came out of the bullpen in middle relief his first seven outings before taking over a starting role . . . Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week in late March after tossing a seven-inning complete-game one-hitter against potent Angelo State in just his third start, striking out five in that 2-0 victory . . . Picked up a win in relief against Texas A&M-Kingsville, allowing one run in 2 2/3 innings, with other victories coming in starts against Southwestern Oklahoma and Northeastern State.

Juco:  Played two years at Cowley County (Kan.) Community College . . . Went 3-0 to help the Tigers to the Region VI title and an NJCAA World Series berth.

High School:  Four-sport standout at Pryor High School . . . Baseball All-Stater while also starring in basketball, football and golf.

Personal:  A broadcast major looking to become a sports broadcaster . . . Enjoys hunting and fishing as off-field interests . . . Birthdate is May 3, 1987.
