Biography

Senior pitcher set to assume the mantle as UCO's No. 1 starter . . . Experienced veteran coming off a stellar junior season and a right-handed hurler with pin-point control who is poised for a banner season . . . Saw time in both starting and relief roles in junior college, but became a full-time starter last year and will do the same this spring when he looks to become one of the top pitchers in the Lone Star Conference.

2009:  Went 5-1 with a tidy 3.60 earned run average in eight games, all starts . . . Allowed 48 hits and only 10 walks in 45 innings while striking out 33 . . . Went 1-1 in four February starts before missing all of March to injury, then came back to win all four starts in April . . . Had two complete games, giving up a combined 13 hits and four runs while striking out 11 in those two outings . . . Fanned four or more batters in six of eight starts and went at least four innings every time he took the mound . . . Tossed 5 2/3 shutout innings against Tarleton State, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out six.

Juco:  Pitched primarily out of the bullpen as a freshman in earning honorable mention All-Conference recognition and was a second-team All-Conference pick as a starter the next year.

High School:   Baseball-football standout at Duncan High School . . . Led the Demons to three straight regional titles in baseball and was Southern Conference MVP and an All-Stater as a senior . . . Also an All-District pick in football.

Personal:  A finance major . . . Enjoys hunting and fishing as his main off-field interests . . . Lists Derek Jeter as his favorite athlete . . . Birthdate is Dec. 17, 1987.
