Biography

Returning starter and senior veteran slated to remain UCO’s main catcher . . . Assumed an immediate starting role as a junior college transfer last year and enjoyed a stellar season in guiding the pitching staff . . . Top-notch defender with a strong arm and looks to be even more of an offensive threat this season, with the Bronchos expecting big things from this proven leader.
 
2012:  Started 47 of UCO’s 48 games and went the distance behind the plate in virtually all of those outings . . . Finished with a .242 average that included five doubles, three home runs and 23 runs batted in . . . Had seven multi-hit and seven multi-RBI games, highlighted by 3-for-4, two-homer, four-RBI outing in rout of Southwestern Oklahoma . . . Made just three errors on the season, including only one in the final 27 games . . . Finished with a team-high .991 fielding percentage and threw out 17 of 64 would-be base stealers.
 
Juco:  Played two years at Vernon (Texas) College.
 
High School:  Earned All-State honors in both baseball and basketball as a senior at Chattanooga High School . . . Helped lead the baseball team to a state championship and the basketball squad to a pair of state runner-up finishes.
 
Personal:  History major looking to become a coach . . . Names the Boston Red Sox as his top professional team . . . Lists Carlos Santana as his favorite musical artist . . . Birthdate is Oct. 14, 1989.
