Jacob Evans

Jacob Evans joined the University of Central Oklahoma baseball coaching staff in 2020. He handles pitching coach responsibilities for the Bronchos.

Evans led UCO to a 25-21 record in 2021, boasting a team ERA of 5.39 with the Bronchos averaging right at nine strikeouts per game. 

Evans was drafted in the sixth by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft and comes to UCO from the University of Oklahoma, where he spent the 2019 season an assistant coach. Evans also played for the Sooners from 2013-15 and compiled a 16-8 record on the mound to go with 17 saves. He's listed as just the third player in program history to total 15 or more wins and saves in a career.

After being drafted by the Cardinals, Evans played for the State College Spikes in short-season rookie ball. He played for the Palm Beach Cardinals in A ball and then twice earned a promotion to Double A Springfield, where he pitched for the Cardinals in both 2017 and 2018. Evans won 13 games in the minor leagues and also made five saves.

From Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Evans was a prep standout and earned the 2012 Oklahoma High School Jim Thorpe Award for the best player in the state and helped lead Broken Arrow to one state title and numerous district and regional championships.
