Biography

Veteran catcher enters his fifth year with the program and will be a junior again this season following the health-crisis-shortened 2020 season ... Knows how to call a game from behind the plate and knows how to do it well ... Brings a solid glove behind the plate and can put the defense in the right position ... Made big strides on offense last season in a short window and now looks to continue that trend this spring.

2020: Played in 11 games and made 10 starts for the Bronchos as a junior ... Hit .325 with a .625 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage ... Was a combined 13-for-40 through 11 games with six doubles and two home runs ... Also scored 11 runs and had 11 RBIs ... Had a .984 fielding percentage, with 106 putouts and 16 assists to just two errors ... Threw out nine runners attempting to steal a base ... Ended the season on a five-game hit streak ... Had three-straight multi-hit games ... Went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored against Newman ... Also had a three-hit game against Fort Hays State, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored ... Threw out a career-high four runners attempting to steal in win over Newman in February.

2019: Played in 20 games for the Bronchos as a sophomore and made 15 starts ... Started at catcher in 14 games and was also designated hitter once ... Hit .100 for the season, going 4-for-40 ... Two of four hits last season were home runs ... Hit one out in a 2-for-4 game against Fort Hays State when he also had two RBIs ... Also went 1-for-3 with a home run against Washburn ... Had six RBIs on the season ... Drew nine walks ... Threw out 11 runners trying to steal a base off of him ... Had 124 putouts and 23 assists ... Helped team set a school record with 548 strikeouts and a Division II record .985 fielding percentage.

2018: Played in 10 games as a redshirt freshman, gaining more experience with each appearance as he played a role in Central Oklahoma winning the MIAA championship ... Started four games behind the plate, helping the Bronchos to a pair of wins in those contests ... Hit .105 on the season, with two hits in 19 at bats ... Had one double ... Also drew four walks on the year.

2017: Sat out redshirt season at UCO.

High School: All-State catcher at Olathe South in Kansas ... Also earned Kansas All-Star team ... Helped team to state tournament as a junior and senior.
