Biography

Returning starter and offensive catalyst who ranks as one of the top shortstops in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association . . . Has great range in the field along with a strong arm and can make all the plays from his all-important infield position . . . Sensational bunter and a speedy senior who plays a huge role in getting UCO’s offense untracked . . . Enjoyed superb two-year career at Frank Phillips (Texas) College and is ready to finish his career with a flourish.

2013:  Led the team with a .358 average and started all 49 games in earning honorable mention All-MIAA recognition . . . Had eight doubles, five home runs and 29 runs batted in while also scoring 44 runs . . . Finished third in NCAA Division II with 17 sacrifice bunts . . . Had 16 multi-hit games, including six during one seven-game span . . . Drove in two-plus runs eight times . . . Was hitting just .204 through 16 games before going 15-for-25 (.600) during a nine-game hitting streak and batted .431 the last 33 games of the season . . . Went 5-for-10 with two homers, one double, five RBI and six runs scored in three-game series against Nebraska-Kearney . . . Hit a team-high .362 (17-for-47) with two outs . . . Finished with a team-leading 132 assists, making five or more six times.

  

Juco:  Had a .336 average with 31 runs scored while making just six errors in the field as a freshmen for the Plainsmen . . . Hit .319 with 13 doubles and 32 RBI in 2012 in addition to finishing with a .959 fielding percentage and team-high 129 assists.

High School: Two-time All-Conference pick at Mercersburg (Pa.) Academy, hitting .577 as a junior and .541 as a senior . . . Helped lead the Storm to the state semifinals his final season.

Personal:  Finance major . . . Enjoys playing ping pong as a hobby . . . Is originally from Panama City, Panama and played on Latin America’s championship team in the 2005 Junior League World Series . . . Names the Atlanta Braves as his favorite professional team . . . Birthdate is March 2, 1991.
