Biography

Returning letterman primed to challenge for the starting berth at catcher . . . Saw part-time starting duty behind the plate last season and showed that he’s capable of handling the position . . . Fine defender who is also capable of helping the Bronchos out offensively . . . Transferred to UCO last year from Eastern Oklahoma College.

2013:  Had a .309 average with four doubles, one home run and nine runs batted in while playing in 28 games with 14 starts . . . Had five multi-hit games and batted .286 (12-for-42) with two doubles, a homer and seven RBI in 14 starts . . . Went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and a solo homer against St. Gregory’s . . . Drove in season-high three runs against Nebraska-Kearney . . . Finished with a .982 fielding percentage, making two errors in 114 chances.

Juco:  Had a .343 average with three doubles, two homers and 14 RBI as a sophomore in helping the Mountaineers win their second straight Region II championship.

High School:  Baseball-basketball standout at Roff High School . . . Helped lead the Tigers to four fall and spring state baseball titles and hit .430 with 11 homers and 42 RBI as a senior.

Personal:  Kinesiology major . . . Names the Chicago Cubs as his top professional team . . . Lists “Bull Durham” as his favorite sports movie . . . Birthdate is Sept. 24, 1991.
